Hanna Fisher, Mpsych Psych, Msc, BACP

Psychotherapist, Organisational Consultant, Leadership and Career Development Consultant, Clinical Supervisor

I am a child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist and organisational consultant trained at the Tavistock Centre (London) and University of East London. I have more than twenty years of experience working in multiple health, mental health and community settings. I strive to help my clients become aware of and overcome unconscious conflicts and relational patterns which stand in the way of a healthy, creative, fulfilling existence.

My work is rooted in an in-depth understanding of human relations, group dynamics and emotional life. Honesty, curiosity and compassion are at the heart of my practice.

Sessions are available online or in person (London and Frome).

Psychotherapy

We spend much of our waking time dreaming of the person we think we are and the person that we wished we were. We suffer when we cannot reconcile our waking dreams with our meaningful relationships and with the demands of every day. Psychotherapy is a space to turn imagination into lived experience. I work collaboratively with my clients to reimagine their thoughts and perception of themselves and others, so that life can begin to feel easier, healthier and more fulfilling.

I am a psychoanalytically trained psychotherapist working with adults, children and adolescents.

I offer short and long term psychodynamic psychotherapy, including DIT (Dynamic Interpersonal Psychotherapy), a specialist form of short term psychotherapy specifically designed to address challenging patterns in family life and interpersonal relationships.

  • Body-mind connection and physical wellbeing
  • Parenting, fertility and pre and post natal mental health
  • Career transition and change, burnout and work-life balance

I offer the following services

  • Short and long term individual counselling and psychotherapy
  • DIT - 16 sessions
  • Parent sessions, offering support and guidance to parents in connecting and understanding their child
  • Fertility and transition to parenthood counselling

Career Development and Leadership Coaching

Most of us spend a significant part of our waking life doing something we call "work". We often assume that how we participate in it is hard to change, and we resign ourselves to the idea that "work" and "life" must be kept separate. On the contrary, it is often at work that our innermost conflicts and deepest vulnerabilities are triggered, exacerbating stress and holding us back from achieving our full potential. I help my clients to claim their right to feel that the whole of their life, including time spent working, can be meaningful and fulfilling.

I can help with

  • Career transitions and role changes
  • Redundancy
  • Returning to work after a career gap
  • Pre and post maternity leave
  • Conflict in the workplace
  • Work-life balance and wellbeing at work
  • Retirement

I offer long or short term career development and leadership consultancy. I use a range of tools including inquisitive dialogue, creative and embodied practices in nature and archetypal active imagination.

Organisational Consultancy

The psychological life of organisations is complex and often difficult to interpret. Resilience, cooperation, wellbeing and the capacity to adapt to change are often difficult to achieve.

I help leaders to reflect on the hidden interpersonal factors affecting how staff work together effectively and creatively, or struggle to do so. I help management to uncover and change the relational dynamics which perpetuate discomfort, offering insight and the permission to explore the unsaid.

I offer a series of targeted consultations to leaders in organisations who are facing the challenges of

  • Restructuring
  • Growth or contraction
  • Staff conflict and burnout
  • Changes in leadership (succession, redundancy, new appointments and resignations)
  • AI implementation and staff redeployment

Whilst I work closely with management to develop a strategy for my intervention, I can implement change at all levels of an organisation through interviews, consultancy and bespoke experiential training sessions.

If you are a leader of an organisation looking to bring more productivity, satisfaction and wellbeing into your organisation please do not hesitate to get in touch for a preliminary conversation.

Supervision

Supervision is central to any therapist's wellbeing and professional development. My approach is warm and supportive, whilst encouraging an inquisitive and rigorous understanding of one's practice. I supervise therapists working with adults and children, either individually or in groups. Whilst my main theoretical frame of reference is psychodynamic, I have offered supervision to many integrative and humanistic therapists over the years.

My approach to the understanding of each case is holistic and informed by both an understanding of the relational dynamics between therapist and client, and also by a systemic view of the network of relationships - conscious and unconscious - and organisational dynamics where the case is alive.

In my work as a supervisor I strive to offer meaningful ways to link relevant theory with clinical practice and I am experienced in supporting my supervisees with academic submissions.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss your supervision needs.

I offer a free online/telephone introductory call.
